SWA was created in 1993, and since then, our guides have been spending 4-6 months each winter down in Ecuador guiding our old favorites and exploring for new runs. To ensure the best possible experience for our guests, Small World Adventures built an exclusive riverside lodge in the Quijos Valley—an area that is well endowed with world-class whitewater, but was seriously lacking in quality accommodations. We know you will paddle at your best if you have a good night’s sleep and eat healthy, home cooked meals. We try to take as much stress as possible out of your traveling experience (stress meaning barking dogs and loud roosters keeping you up at night, and low quality food leaving you wishing you had brought more power bars) so you can focus on your kayaking. Don’t worry, there is still plenty of adventure left in traveling around Ecuador, we won’t insulate you from the experience of it all, we just want you to eat and sleep well while on your adventure! We also have the largest and most up to date kayak fleet in the country—and probably in all of Latin America. We have the newest creek boats, play boats, and river runners so you’ll always have the appropriate boat for the kind of kayaking you are doing.
We all fell in love with Ecuador (both for its culture and its whitewater) and we think you will love it too.
