News from Small World Adventures

Week long Ecuador Hiking Trip! We are really excited to be offering a trip for non-river runners to our favorite areas of Ecuador. Each day we do and activity such as hiking to the largest waterfall in Ecuador and even one day of paddle rafting, but mostly we are enjoying the best of the highlands and upper Amazon basin. We also plan to visit Ecuador's largest handicraft market and the nicest hot springs resort. Continuing with the idea that "Adventure travel doesn't mean you have to rough it", we will be spending our evenings at wonderful hotels and lodges and eating great meals. The highlight will include two nights at Cabanas Tres Rios, our own exclusive riverside lodge. Trips are November through March starting on Saturdays!

Raft and Kayak combo Nov. 4 We have a trip for everyone this week. Kayakers will paddle class IV runs each day and rafters will paddle raft 4 or 5 of the days this week. On their off days the rafters can horseback ride, explore the rainforest, soak in hot springs or go birding. This is a great opportunity for people who want to run rivers together since we will stay in the same lodges and run most rivers together.

SWA guides at the 2006 Gore race. Don and Darcy tore it up on the annual race down Gore. Darcy won the women's race and Don came in second in the under 8' division.

New kayak region in Ecuador: SWA has created a new class IV kayak trip called "Two Worlds". We will paddle four days in the favorite Quijos valley where our lodge is located and then instead of traveling to Tena we move over to the western slope to sample the best of the rivers and creeks near Santa Domingo. This will be a perfect trip for some of our repeat guests looking for something new.

Grand Canyon: Our 2006 Grand Canyon trip was awesome. We are skipping 2007 but have a date for July 13, 2008. We run our trips with Moki Mac River Expeditions and highly recommend them. Beleive me it's not too early to reserve a spot on this classic. Kayakers and refters welcome. They have a few spots available for the 2007 summer season so contact them. www.mokimac.com

Spanish Classes: Starting in the winter of 2006 we will be offering Spanish classes at the beautiful Cabanas Tres Rios! The classes will be based on week long (5 day) sessions, classes four hours a day with recommended daily activities. Take one on one classes or group lessons. Enjoy learning Spanish in an incredible beautiful setting and wonderfull meals!

Second edition of guidebook: The new guidebook is out. New runs as well as hotel, restaraunt and shuttle info. Contact us for your copy. We will keep it updated through a blog www.kayakersguidetoecuador.blogspot.com
